From Crutches to Courage: Turning Visibility Into Power
By Michelle Kuei
At 11 years old, my life changed forever.
A car accident left me permanently disabled, standing 4’4” tall and walking with crutches.
But here’s the thing—my biggest limitation wasn’t physical. It was invisible. It was the belief that I had to stay small to be accepted.
For years, I tried to shrink myself to fit the world’s comfort zone. Until one day, I decided to do something wildly uncomfortable—train to hike the 26-mile Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
It took me eight days, two bandaged wrists, and a whole lot of tears. I crawled—literally—up that mountain.
But when I reached the top, I didn’t just conquer the trail. I left behind the shame, the doubt, and the story that said, “You’re not enough.”
That moment changed everything.
These days, I channel that same fearless energy into helping women entrepreneurs and coaches stop hiding in the “what ifs” and start shining like the leaders they were always meant to be.
I’m a Visibility & Marketing Coach, motivational speaker, and author.
Through my company, Elevate LifeCoaching, my programs, and my podcast, I teach female coaches how to market themselves with confidence, attract dream clients, and turn their message into impact.
Because visibility isn’t just about being seen.
It’s about becoming unstoppable.
