Can discuss Covid19 impact on immigration as well as challenges and opportunities for businesses, entrepreneurs and specially startups.
As a busy mother of two little girls, can talk about work-life balance and women's issues.
I am an avid bird and wildlife photographer, a hobby I picked up during the pandemic. I have travelled near and far to take bird photos and love that this hobby has transformed me in every way possible. I am now a huge advocate that all humans must have a hobby or downtime. I love talking about this!
Ask me anything immigration! (AKA AMA!) I can talk about general US immigration matters. I can talk about family-immigration (this administration dubbed it 'chain migration'). I can talk about business/employment/investment based immigration- (this administration wants 'merit based immigration'). visas include H1B, L1, O (genius visas often used in Hollywood, by entertainers but generally anyone at the top of their game), NAFTA Treaty visas, P, R (religious visas) and so much more. This is all legal immigration. I can also talk about current immigration policies including the DACA, travel ban, zero tolerance, immigration reform etc. I started and continue to lead my local area Response Committee for the WA chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. This role is crucial in providing rapid response to the various crises created by this administration. Follow me on Facebook (WatsonImmigrationLaw), LinkedIn and Twitter. 2020 has started off rocky and will continue to be a challenging a year. As a busy working mother two beautiful little girls, I can also talk about work-life balance issues while running my law firm (business owner) and trying to save the world (visionary leader)!
I had a live radio show for 2 years- Tahmina Talks Immigration which has almost 100 shows now available on Itunes as a podcast. I write a lot of articles on immigration (Google me!). I have written a book advocating for a startup visa for entrepreneurs- the book "Startup Visa-key to Job Growth and Economic Prosperity" is available on Amazon and other online bookstores. I am a blogger- my blog has received a couple of top 40/60 feature listings.
I am co-founder of AirportLawyer.org, a web app that helped during the chaos of the travel ban (www.airportlawyer.org). I am also cofounder of WIDEN, Washington Immigrant Defense Network (www.widenlaw.org) - a non-profit that helps bring more lawyer representation in the immigration courtroom by training and mentoring non-immigration lawyers.
