While early in my career I was making B movies, I've spent more recent years in the C-suite as a COO, CEO and currently as CMO of .CLUB Domains, one of the new alternatives to .com, .org, etc. My career (so far) has spanned the entertainment, computer game, mobile and Internet worlds. I have written and produced for film & TV, and have been a tech startup entrepreneur. I am a frequent speaker on entrepreneurship, mobile marketing, domain names and social media, and I've had articles published in FORBES, ENTREPRENEUR, AdAge, and many other publications. As the father of three, I have also been a prolific "Dad Blogger" participating in influencer campaigns for brands including Intel, Sony, Ford, LG, Asus and others. Despite this seemingly successful career, I am happy to admit that everything I know about business and marketing, I learned from THE TOXIC AVENGER (see more about my book below).

I recently published my book "Everything I Know about Business and Marketing, I Learned from THE TOXIC AVENGER." It is an entertaining and inspiring business and marketing book that presents real, practical business and marketing tips I gleaned from spending 7 years making low-budget action/horror films. Today I am an accomplished CMO, but I attribute much of my success in the "C-suite" to my experiences making "B-movies" for the legendary studio, Troma. Fun Fact: when I left Troma in 1994 they hired a kid to replace me named James Gunn... yes, the same James Gunn behind the successful "GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY" movies - who also attributes Troma to giving him his start in the movie business. So, if I hadn't quit Troma...
What were some of the lessons you learned making Troma movies that you have applied to other industries?
What do making movies and entrepreneurship have in common? What's different?
In your book, you state that making a movie is like "being in a startup on steroids." Can you explain?
Tell me a bit about Troma and their place in film history?
What are some great domain name tips for marketers?
Why do domain names matter in today's world of social media?
What is .CLUB?
How does one come to "own" a top-level domain?
Over the past 30+ years, I've made countless media appearances, from podcasts and radio interviews to TV including Entertainment Tonight. Here are some recent podcast interviews:
Marketing Smarts by Marketing Profs
Six Pixels of Separation w/Mitch Joel
The Owner's Mind with Chris Brogan
And many more...
I am very active on Social Media, both personally and through .CLUB Domains. I generally promote my appearances on both my accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) as well as through the company's accounts. In addition, the book has a website and facebook page where all appearances talking about my book are posted as cross-promoted as well
